Schaeffler’s Arcanol: Elevating Bearing Performance with Advanced Lubrication

 


Choosing the correct lubricant is essential in ensuring that rolling bearings and linear units can achieve the desired performance and service life.

Schaeffler's Arcanol lubricating greases undergo rigorous quality tests before supply. The quality of each batch is thoroughly tested and accounted for. In Schaeffler’s own analytical laboratory, the Arcanol lubricating greases are checked for their chemical and physical properties following strict guidelines to ensure high product quality.

Lubricants

Schaeffler’s lubricants offer significant benefits, enhancing the running behaviour of bearings and extending the life and operational reliability of the bearing arrangement. The lubricant range is graduated in such a way that it can be used in almost all areas of applications. This is evident as they can withstand various operating conditions and are suitable for all rolling bearings due to their completion of different testing procedures.

In 2015, Schaeffler conducted over 50,000 hours of tests on its own in-house FE8 and FE9 test stands. Arcanol bearing greases possess excellent characteristics in all areas compared to normal greases.

Our greases can be broadly classified into 4 categories:

  • Multi-purpose Greases: Greases that offer a broad range of applications
  • Heavy-duty Greases: Greases for bearings in which particularly high-loading carrying capacity is required
  • High-temperature Greases: Greases that must withstand  high-temperature environments
  • Special Greases: Greases that were selected for specific application area

Mounting Paste:

The mounting paste enhances the sliding of bearing rings, preventing stick/slip effects, scoring, wear and fretting corrosion. It also provides protection against corrosion. The paste can be used at temperatures between -30°C and +150°C. The mounting paste is resistant to water, steam and many alkali and acid agents.

Anti-corrosion Oil:

The Anti-corrosion oil provides protection for unpacked bearings. It provides long-term protection against corrosion of bright metallic surfaces. In general, it is also necessary to wash the anti-corrosion oil out of rolling bearings. It has neutral behaviour towards rolling bearing greases and oils. The oil can be removed using alkaline solvents or neutral cleaning agents.
