Schaeffler DuraSense is the world’s first condition monitoring solution for monorail guidance systems. The pre-processing unit reads and monitors lubricant parameters in linear guideways. The system now also features an interface that gives the customers access to raw data from vibration sensors. It records the current running behaviour of the carriage, evaluates and visualizes the data, and enables automated lubrication.

DuraSense monitors lubrication conditions in linear guidance systems and triggers the signal for a relubricating impulse from a relubrication unit when insufficient lubrication occurs.

DuraSense ensures that the lubricating impulse also reaches the carriage. If this is not the case (eg. due to loose or blocked lubricant supply line), DuraSense triggers the corresponding signal.

Up to 30% less lubricant consumption 

In setups where a central lubrication system is installed, DuraSense can be used for early detection of faults that can lead to insufficient lubrication, thereby preventing both lubricant starvation and excessive starvation. Decreasing intervals between lubrication runs is a sign of wear and may indicate that the components in question are nearing the end of their operating life. 

DuraSense can spare manufacturers costly repairs and delays when commissioning machines in their clients’ factories. 

User Interface to access raw data 

Schaeffler provides an interface that allows its customers to get access to the raw data given by the DuraSense system’s vibration sensors. 

Schaeffler DuraSense as a retrofit kit 

Schaeffler is also offering a retrofit kit for several plants and machines that are currently used in the manufacturing industry.
